The Manager
As Deputy Manager, Elin Gallivan is responsible for the day-to-day needs of staff and residents at Whitchurch Road. She has 8 years’ experience working in the sector, Level 3 NVQ in health and social care and is working towards Level 4. Elin started as a support worker at 18 working mostly with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, which provided her initial knowledge of residential and supported living houses, how it works, long hours, sleep-in shifts, training, learning disabilities and some mental health conditions.
She has worked for Accomplish for 4.5 years, with a variety of people and is passionate about helping them achieve their goals through person-centred care and support, tailored plans to strengthen their mental health and well-being, focussing on promoting their independence with a compassionate approach, and to live a fulfilled lives with access to community and activities.
Elin’s management style is approachable and positive, ensuring residents and staff know she is always there for them.
The Team
The staff team are great at their jobs and have lots of experience, having worked in the houses for years, some for 10 years! The team are more than capable and have training tailored to the needs of the people we support, to help us support them to achieve the best outcomes. The team are positive and fun, always striving to go the extra mile around support and activities for residents. Keyworkers work directly with an individual to support them with their goals and activities.
Over the years, we have had great success helping people to move on to live fully independently. We have had three people move out to live in their own flats in the past two years. Our goal is to support residents to build confidence and life skills to be able to live independently and thrive in the community. Some people who have moved on still visit and it makes us so proud to see how happy they are and how well they are doing, and it helps others see what is possible for them too.
