About
Ty Newydd is a specialist residential service in Newport that provides a safe, structured, and empowering environment for up to five adults living with acquired brain injury and associated conditions, including mental health needs and learning disabilities. Our focus is on enabling each person to achieve greater independence through tailored rehabilitation programmes, therapeutic activities, and meaningful community engagement. The service benefits from access to the Accomplish clinical team, including expertise in mental health, learning disability, physical health, positive behavioural support, occupational therapy etc., allowing us to deliver truly holistic and multidisciplinary support.
The location of the service offers an ideal balance, close to local amenities, public transport, and community resources to promote integration and independence, while maintaining a calm, homely setting that supports recovery and wellbeing. Life at Ty Newydd is about more than meeting care needs; it’s about creating opportunities for personal growth, connection, and purposeful living. Residents are encouraged to take part in household routines, social activities, and community projects, building confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging as they progress on their rehabilitation journey.

The Manager
Victoria Goodrich is the Registered Manager with over 20 years of experience in the health and social care sector, including 10 years as a manager. She holds the QCF Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care and has dedicated her career to supporting adults with acquired brain injury, mental health conditions, and learning disabilities. She is passionate about creating environments that empower individuals to rebuild confidence, regain independence, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Victoria’s leadership style is collaborative and inclusive, and she believes in leading by example and fostering a positive, supportive culture where staff can grow and deliver their best. She is passionate about the sector because every day offers an opportunity to see the tangible difference that high-quality, compassionate care can make in someone’s recovery journey and quality of life.
The Team
Ty Newydd residents are supported by a highly trained, skilled and dedicated team of 15 staff, including a Deputy Manager, who bring a wealth of experience in acquired brain injury, mental health, and learning disability support. The team share the commitment to person-centred practice and a positive risk-taking approach that promotes independence and dignity.
Working closely together, they value open communication, reflection, and shared learning to maintain consistent, high-quality support. Each team member brings their own strengths, from clinical insight and rehabilitation techniques to emotional support and creative engagement, which complement the leadership and our shared goal of helping people rebuild fulfilling, independent lives.
