Pen Bryn is a supportive and empowering home for up to seven individuals with complex Mental Health needs or Learning Disabilities. Our aim is to help each person live as independently as possible by building confidence, developing life skills, and supporting people to achieve their personal goals—no matter how big or small.

We believe that everyone has potential. Through a recovery-focused approach and a nurturing environment, we enable people to gain control of their lives, enjoy sustainable independence, and believe in their future.

Our Approach

We work alongside individuals to build trust, promote skills development, and support re-enablement. Our person-centred support is tailored to meet each person’s unique needs, using innovative and flexible strategies to help them achieve positive outcomes.

Key elements of our support include:

Developing personalised coping strategies
Supporting access to training, volunteering, and education
Encouraging and enabling employment opportunities where possible
Promoting empowerment through choice and involvement

We use evidence-based tools such as the Mental Health Recovery Star, which values personal perspective and encourages individual ownership of the recovery journey.

Accommodation

Pen Bryn is a spacious, three-storey detached house offering a warm and homely environment. The accommodation includes:

Five en-suite bedrooms
One self-contained flat
One studio-style flat
Shared kitchen, dining area, lounge, and laundry room
Comfortable communal spaces for socialising and relaxation

Pen Bryn is located in the heart of Porth, nestled in the picturesque Rhondda Valley within the stunning Bwlch Mountain Ranges. The surrounding countryside offers access to rural activities such as walking, cycling, and horse riding.
