About
Manor Farm supports ten adults with a dual diagnosis of Autism and Learning Disabilities. We work closely with family members and the people we support to provide care that fosters hope, optimism, and a truly valued lifestyle for each individual living with Autism.
Our person-centred, Autism-friendly approach encourages self-awareness and a deeper understanding of Autism. This ensures support maximises each person’s unique gifts and skills while helping to reduce challenges they may face.
Our Approach
At Manor Farm, promoting self-esteem and motivating people to feel proud of themselves and their achievements is central to the care we provide. Everyone is supported to build confidence and pursue what matters most to them, helping them to lead happy and fulfilling lives.
We encourage all individuals to have a voice in their care, ensuring their preferences and needs are heard and respected. Each person works with their key worker to discuss interests, goals, and aspirations—whether that’s starting college, finding employment, learning to cook, or gaining confidence for everyday activities like shopping. Staff provide tailored support, including social stories and education on social rules, body language, and facial expressions.
Our Focus
Manor Farm follows a proactive Autism Strategy designed to promote independence and positive experiences. We help people understand and accept themselves as autistic individuals with unique strengths and challenges. We create meaningful opportunities that enable people to express their personalities, build self-esteem, and feel genuinely valued.
Our service is built on respect, trust, and honesty. We champion equal opportunities while recognising and celebrating individual differences. Understanding the social challenges many autistic individuals face, we support people to develop their social skills both at home and in the community.
Positive Outcomes
Our positive, encouraging approach has helped individuals access training, volunteering, college courses, and employment opportunities. Staff are enthusiastic and flexible, willing to try new methods when needed—whether researching new activities or embracing fresh approaches. The possibilities are endless, and staff ensure that everyone at Manor Farm enjoys a rich and fulfilling life while exploring new experiences.
Autism Profiles
With guidance from our company Autism Advisor, we create personalised Autism Profiles for everyone we support. These profiles highlight individual strengths alongside areas where support is needed, summarising diagnostic criteria and offering a detailed, person-specific picture. This enables staff to deliver truly person-centred, Autism-informed care.
