About

Welcome to Lyndale, a Hereford-based residential service supporting adults with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, and Autism. We accommodate up to 10 individuals, providing personalised support tailored to each person’s unique strengths, interests, and aspirations. At Lyndale, we foster a compassionate environment that empowers people to thrive and lead fulfilling lives.

Our Support and Approach

Lyndale is committed to delivering outstanding care through the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, which is central to our person-centred approach. Our manager, a qualified PBS trainer, champions this model daily, creating a culture that reinforces positive behaviour throughout the service. Our dedicated staff team fully embrace and integrate PBS in their interactions, ensuring consistent, supportive care. All support plans are individually tailored with active input from the people we support, guaranteeing that care aligns with their unique needs and preferences for a holistic and empowering experience.

Accommodation

Lyndale offers a warm and inclusive home environment featuring a welcoming dining room for shared meals and a fully equipped kitchen that encourages participation and life skill development. The service includes eight spacious bedrooms plus two self-contained flats, promoting a balance of community living and independence. Three bedrooms benefit from ensuite wet rooms for added convenience and privacy. Outdoor spaces include a vibrant courtyard and a large garden, providing peaceful areas for relaxation and social activities. Our facilities serve as a foundation for growth, connection, and achievement within a supportive community.

Location and Transport

Located in Hereford, Lyndale is conveniently situated just a five-minute walk from the train and bus stations. The service offers easy access to a variety of amenities including a cinema, bowling alley, medical centres, supermarkets, and a college — all within a ten-minute walk. Local community hubs provide opportunities for gardening, cookery, and other engaging activities tailored to those we support. Lyndale’s accessible location and wealth of nearby facilities contribute to a rich and fulfilling lifestyle.

Good News

At Lyndale, we celebrate inspiring achievements that reflect the impact of our dedicated support. After 12 years of struggling with severe anxiety, one individual recently achieved the remarkable milestone of walking to town independently. Through tailored therapies and positive behaviour support, he has since progressed to booking holidays — a goal once thought unattainable.

Another person we support has overcome significant challenges, including alcohol dependency, frequent epileptic seizures (over 50 monthly), and obsessive behaviours. Thanks to consistent care and collaboration with epilepsy specialists, his seizures have reduced to 10-15 per month, and he has successfully addressed his alcohol issues, greatly improving his quality of life.

In 2023, Lyndale was honoured with the Hereford Times Health Care Team Award, recognising the exceptional dedication of our staff in promoting independence and meeting diverse needs.
