About

At Lester Court, we support ten people with complex mental health needs. We recognise that recovery is a journey, and through our outcome-focused approach, we empower people to maintain choice and control over their own lives. We work alongside individuals to help them achieve their goals by supporting access to training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. Everyone is encouraged to engage with their local community and to learn and practise new skills in a supportive environment.

Positive Outcomes

We have a proven track record of supporting individuals with complex, long-term rehabilitation needs to move on to more independent models of support. We help people build on their strengths, skills, and resilience. We encourage everyone to develop their own tools for self-management and wellbeing. Our tailored support assists individuals in developing coping techniques to manage emotions and behaviour, making a positive impact on their daily lives.

Our Staff Team

Our experienced and well-trained staff are passionate about their work and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for those they support every day. They receive guidance from Clinical Support Nurses and Behaviour Advisors as needed. Staff use tools such as the Recovery Star and Positive Behavioural Support Plans, which enable them to understand and respond to each person’s individual needs.

Accommodation

Lester Court consists of a main house with three en-suite bedrooms and five studio apartments. Each studio apartment features its own kitchen, dining area, bedroom, and en-suite facilities. Ground-floor apartments have been adapted for wheelchair accessibility. Communal spaces include a lounge, laundry room, quiet room, kitchen, and dining area. Two studio apartments at the rear of the property have private access.

Progression Pathway - Studio Apartments

Our studio apartments provide a clear progression pathway within a residential support setting. This pathway offers opportunities for self-development and personal growth, regardless of complex health and social care needs. The apartments offer private spaces for staff to provide skill development or coaching sessions. People can trial independence with the reassurance of 24-hour staffing support, helping them develop essential life skills. These semi-independent transition apartments enable those who want to live more independently to take confident first steps within a safe, risk-managed environment.
