About
Kington House is a community-based residential home, divided into two environments we call the “House” and the “Annex.” Both areas are designed to support male adults with mental health needs, including individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, personality disorders, alcohol and substance misuse. We also have extensive experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities and dual diagnoses.
Additionally, we specialise in supporting individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries, providing rehabilitation with a focus on progressing towards greater independence.

Our goal is to offer a comforting, supportive environment where both the people we support and our staff can thrive. The service maintains a warm and nurturing atmosphere, ensuring everyone receives the right level of care to empower them and boost their independence.
Outcome Focused
We are committed to delivering clear, measurable outcomes. To track progress, we use the Goal Attainment Scale (GAS Goals), supported by the Brain Injury Independence and Emotional Scale (BIIES). We also apply the Recovery Star and Active Support models—both personalised tools used for goal planning and promoting greater independence.
Accommodation
Kington House comprises 7 bedrooms with en-suite facilities, while the Annex has 4 en-suite bedrooms designed to support individuals with more complex physical needs. The Annex includes mobility aids, handrails throughout, and a stair lift to access the first floor. The ground floor is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Situated in the West End of Barry, the home is close to the seaside and beautiful local parks. Nearby high streets offer a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs. The location benefits from being on a main transport route, with easy access to the airport, the M4 motorway, and the Five Mile Lane.
