About

At Gwynfryn, we provide a supportive environment for ten people with Mental Health needs, where they can feel comfortable, safe, and happy. We understand the importance of a warm welcome and strive to create a relaxed, homely atmosphere.

We encourage everyone to lead full and active lives, supporting individuals to reach their potential and achieve their goals. Building on existing skills, we help people develop coping strategies to manage setbacks and empower them to explore new opportunities, hobbies, and interests. Our aim is to offer every opportunity for personal development through education and adventure.

Our Approach

Our person-centred approach is embedded in every aspect of the care and support we provide. We prioritise supporting people to take ownership of their care, valuing choice and promoting independence at all times.

We adopt a multi-team approach, involving our clinical team and external services whenever beneficial. We welcome input from care teams and seek opportunities for individuals to engage with community services.

Recognising everyone’s unique needs, we tailor our support accordingly. We provide an environment that promotes mental and physical well-being, supporting individuals to maintain their identity while rebuilding self-confidence and managing their Mental Health and potential relapse.

Positive Outcomes

Gwynfryn offers access to college, travel training, and leisure activities. We work alongside individuals to build their futures and increase personal empowerment.

We promote community integration and help people establish social and vocational networks locally. We have supported individuals in completing courses in Cookery, Performing Arts, and IT skills, and in returning to university. Our experience includes working with people who have complex, long-term rehabilitation needs, successfully enabling them to move on to more independent support models.

Recovery Star Model

We use the Recovery Star Model, an outcomes-based tool recognised by the Department of Health. This model supports recovery by measuring progress in areas such as managing Mental Health, developing living skills, building social networks, and boosting self-esteem to maximise independence.
