For over seven years, our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach has been deeply embedded in our organisation. PBS is more than just reducing incidents of concern—it’s about enhancing overall quality of life. We understand that behaviour is a form of communication, often signalling unmet needs. By focusing on the factors that influence each person’s life, we aim to reduce restrictions, increase community involvement, and expand opportunities for meaningful activities. 

We strive to balance respecting individual choices with gently guiding people toward positive, empowering decisions. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based research, comprehensive training, and a deep understanding of each person’s preferences. We ensure consistent, personalised support that promotes both emotional and physical well-being.

We provide environments that foster mental and physical wellness, and we are especially committed to supporting women in maintaining their identity, rebuilding self-confidence, managing mental health and relapse, and improving their overall lifestyle.

At Grove View, we have a strong track record of supporting individuals with complex, long-term rehabilitation needs. Our person-centred approach has enabled many to successfully transition to more independent models of support. 

Recent successes include individuals transitioning to more independent living arrangements, increased participation in community activities, and notable improvements in emotional well-being through consistent therapeutic engagement. 

We use low-arousal communication techniques, which have proven highly effective in promoting calm, respectful interactions. Our team works closely with women to help them build their futures and increase personal empowerment. We support access to training, volunteering, education, and, where possible, employment opportunities. Everyone is encouraged to engage with their local community, develop new skills, and rediscover abilities that may have been lost over time. 

Our aim is to enhance social awareness and confidence through community involvement and targeted training. We offer access to college courses, travel training, volunteering, and leisure activities tailored to individual interests and aspirations. 

We are committed to helping the women we support lead fulfilling lives. We encourage them to make informed decisions, participate in tasks they can manage independently, and receive support in areas where they wish to grow. We take pride in helping each individual pursue their goals and dreams—wherever possible, we make them a reality. 

We believe that the culture of a home directly influences the quality of life for the people who live there. A positive culture is built around the individual, grounded in evidence-based care, and sustained through strong leadership, effective management, and access to knowledge and guidance. 

The physical environment also plays a key role. We actively involve the women in decisions about their home, including décor and personalisation of their spaces. Grove View is a warm, welcoming, and comfortable home—an environment that reflects the people who live there and supports their well-being.
