Pathway House Celebrates Outstanding CQC Rating for Life-Changing Support

The exceptional support provided by Pathway House, a Bedfordshire residential care home, has been officially recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with an ‘outstanding’ rating. The service, which supports people with autism and learning disabilities, was praised for the hugely positive impact it has on the lives of those it supports.
In its latest report, the CQC described the difference Pathway House makes as “extraordinary” and highlighted the incredibly kind, caring, and supportive nature of the staff. Inspectors noted that people were fully supported to live the way they wanted and achieve the goals that mattered most to them.
The team at Pathway House were commended for their innovative approaches to promoting healthy, independent living, and helping people remain in control of their care. The report noted that people experienced “very positive outcomes” and had the opportunity to lead full and active lives aligned with their preferences.
One person supported at the service told inspectors: “I am happy here. They treat me like a true gentleman.” Relatives also praised the service, highlighting improvements in physical and mental health. One family member commented: “The service has gone from strength to strength. My family member is out and about all the time and the difference in their mental health has been incredible.”
Registered Manager Kate Houseago said:
“Our service is all about putting people first. We have worked hard to make sure the people we support have the best experiences they can have, and we’re thrilled that this has been recognised by CQC. We are focused always on supporting people to live the lives they want to live, how they want to live them.”
The outstanding CQC rating recognises the dedication of the Pathway House team and the life-changing impact they have on the people they support.
